1. Are You Licensed in Texas?

Texas requires general contractors to carry a license issued by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR). Ask to see it. 2. Do You Pull Your Own Permits?

3. Can I See References from San Antonio Jobs?

4. What Does Your Contract Include?

5. What's Your Insurance Coverage?

Contractors should carry general liability insurance AND workers' compensation. Get the certificate. Call the insurance company to verify it's current. If someone gets hurt on your property and the contractor doesn't have workers' comp, you could be liable.
